A man from a family of noble warrior heritage.
His banners bore the crests of his foretold victory.
On his helmet, he wore The Crane.
In his hand, he held The Tessen.
The first hints of dawn rose behind him.
He raised his war fan high above his head for all to see.
The fan that commanded battle and the thousands of loyal warriors before him.
So this is where they would make their stand... then so be it, he thought to himself.
Today, he would take this bloody field from the hands of his foes and carve fear into all those who defied him.
As if throwing it forward, a single swift motion of his arm brought his tessen from the sky pointing towards the already massing forces from across the field.
"SHOURI," His voice echoed only to be drowned out by the same war cries of his men as they began their charge across the field to meet the enemy.
And so it began.
He looked into the sky to see three cranes flying in an almost curved formation forward.
A good sign that fate was on his side to ensure his victory
Then there were two flashes of lightning.
His horse hurled itself into the air suddenly startled.
He wasn’t the first to notice for several of his archers on horseback already had shafts in their notches and the target in their sights. A complete black clad warrior cut his way through the ranks with two blades then sprang up high into the air aided by his war banner towards him. He cursed to himself as he realized that the fool of an enemy he was facing had deployed battlefield ninja to attempt an assassination on him. Brave warriors who volunteered for the task in which no one expected their return from such a futile attempt. At most, it would distract him for only a short time. He frowned upon the fact but thought that it was more to the glory after he was through with this one and had his severed head high on display for the enemy commander to see.
This version took the longest to make because by now, there were so many vectors that it was nearly impossible to keep track of. As you can guess, about 98% of this image is made of vectors with the exception of the clouds, rain and lightning environment.
In fact, even my 512DDR 2Ghz powerhouse could not keep up with the constant rendering of vectors and just moving the damn layers around took like literally five minutes. Everytime, I pasted in like a small stroke to build a character word that you see under my crest, it took about ten seconds to recognize and physically place onto the canvas. The entire image took several days to build due to revisions after revision. Also had to model the new warriors you see in this version. It makes the battle scene look complete now.
This is already sitting on my desktop so I hope you all enjoy this.
Thanks, did you type in Early Dawn in the search box to find me?

Bender: Hmmm... what is this "common cold"? Is it valuable? Or can it easily be taken from you, if say, you were unconscious? *subtly swings metal bar in palm
I just wanted to thank you - some time ago I've used your amazing picture as my desktop wallpaper for few years. I've cycled through some other wallpapers and am coming back to Early Dawn now
Also, I just spent almost an hour reading your journal. Quite interesting.
Hey, I rarely get a comment back like this so I just wanted to thank you for using my wallpaper and I'm glad you liked it!
My journal is just a way for me to rant my thoughts on daily life, I also use it as a way to see how much I've changed over the years.

well, I made this in 2003 ago and the max screen resolution at the time was 1280x1024. I'm running 1920x1600 nowadays but I haven't had much time to go revisit any of my old designs yet.

Make love! Not (for love/peace or shit like that but for the purposes of conceiving personnel for their eventual deployment in) War!
